I was asked by my church if I could help with videography for our annual men’s conference Free Indeed, a 2 day long conference that is done across a number of churches in Ontario, with Redemption acting like a satellite campus to the main conference at Hope church in Oakville. Every year Redemption puts together a media team to capture the event, and in 2025 I was asked to help with videography

The media team captures worship, sermons, workshops, and fellowship across the conference. The footage is used to create recap videos of the event and to promote the event for the next year. One video was made by Dan to show to the church quickly after the event, another was made by Hope Oakville to advertise for this year, and I put together a more complete video of my work that I shared on social media

The Issues

• Media team members being unable to help for much of the conference
• Not enough team members to cover general media and every workshop station

The Fixes

• Swapping roles when some members couldn’t help and focusing on priorities while everyone was present
• Sharing jobs and multitasking during workshops to ensure everything was
• I ended up doing some photography as well to make up for those who were missing

Process

During music rehearsals we got on stage with the band for close up shots. We did this during rehearsals so we weren’t a distraction during the conference. During the sessions we took wider shots of the band, as well as shots of the congregation during worship and sermons

Throughout the conference, we record and capture everything that happens in the church during sessions, breakouts, meals, and social times, creating a full and coherent
